Hello and welcome to my Project Portfolio!
I'm Manav Vakil, an MS graduate from Columbia University's Biomedical Engineering (BME) program, concentrating in Innovation and Robotics. I recently graduated from Duke University where I earned a BSE in Biomedical Engineering, concentrating in Medical Device Design, Bio-electricity, and Imaging, with minors in Chemistry and Political Science. My goal is to be able to apply the knowledge gained in my education towards developing novel medical devices while understanding how existing policies affect design. Right now I'm looking to work and learn as an engineer, helping to innovate and develop medical devices in hardware/electrical/or systems engineering capacities!
I originally used this site to showcase my work and projects from the BME Design Fellows program. Now, it's my personal portfolio. It’s always under construction, but feel free to look around and reach out!

A task to develop a method/device to let inhaler-prescribed patients with weaker/ smaller/ unstable hands be more independent with administering their medications.
A series of machine learning projects and results in the fields mentioned above.
An engineering design an prototyping task. Developed a light box with switches for blinking and constant illumination, and brightness modulation, from scratch and without software dependant functionality.
A way to adress the high cost and limited accessibility to tympanometry for children with a low-cost machine learning equipped device.
An interactive (music-based) device to address low compliance to respiratory training regimes in therapy patient populations with neurodegenerative diseases
A project demonstrating my abilities in hardware, electronics, and software. It started out as an academic project but is something I plan to conitnue improving on the side!
